Solo orca kills great white shark in under two minutes

An orca named Starboard was observed killing a great white shark by itself in under two minutes in Mossel Bay, South Africa, a behavior previously thought to require team effort. This solitary predation by orcas challenges existing understanding and could impact marine ecosystems. The study suggests that the orcas’ hunting strategy may depend on the size and age of the sharks being targeted.
