Some jellyfish have a fascinating ability to reverse their aging process. Researchers from the University of Bergen discovered that a species called Mnemiopsis leidyi can revert from its adult stage back to a larval form when it experiences severe stress. Although another jellyfish known as Turritopsis dohrnii was already famous for similar abilities, this new find suggests that reverse aging might be more common in marine life than previously thought. Understanding this process could lead to new knowledge about the biology of these ancient creatures.
