UK crab and lobster populations in decline – MCS

Crab and lobster populations in the UK are declining. The Marine Conservation Society (MCS) has updated its Good Fish Guide, showing that many fisheries are not sustainable. Currently, there is only one sustainable crab fishery in Shetland and one lobster fishery in Jersey. The MCS urges better management and regular stock assessments to protect these species. They want fishing practices that reduce damage to habitats and allow populations to thrive.
