The Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2024 competition has announced its winners, highlighting impressive underwater photography. Canadian photographer Shane Gross won for his photo “The Swarm of Life,” showcasing western toad tadpoles in a lake on Vancouver Island. Matty Smith won in the Underwater category for his striking shot of a leopard seal beneath the Antarctic ice. These images emphasize the need for wildlife conservation and highlight lesser-known species in the underwater world. This year’s exhibition will run from October 11, 2024, to June 29, 2025, at the Natural History Museum in London.
