Youth Leaders Unite: Tackling Ocean Pollution with EarthEcho

In 2024, Ocean Wise collaborated with EarthEcho International for the GenSea Shoreline Cleanup Challenge. This initiative granted funds to 20 young leaders in the U.S. to organize local cleanup events, resulting in the removal of 258 kilograms of litter, mostly plastic pieces. Youth participants reported feeling empowered and inspired to tackle plastic pollution in their communities. This project not only impacted the environment but also fostered a sense of responsibility and community engagement among the young leaders involved.
